NEWS AROUND THE FIRE HOUSE - 2014

September 22, 2014- Minerva Fire responded to a reported vehicle fire on Fourteenth Road, near the Moxham Mt Trailhead. Engine 492 arrived on scene first to find a full involved pick-up truck. Seven firefighters were on scene to extinguish the flames and no injuries were reported.

July 9, 2014- Minerva Fire & Rescue responded to a reported minor personal injury motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning. Within four minutes of the call multiple fire/ EMS units were responding to the accident- which was located on State Route 28N- 5 miles south of the Blue Ridge Rd. Once arriving on scene firefighters found one patient with minor injuries who was already out of the vehicle. Minerva EMTs transported the patient to Glens Falls Hospital for evaluation.

June 7, 2014- Minerva Fire & Rescue responded to a serious personal injury motorcycle accident involving two subjects- between Minerva and Newcomb. Once first responders arrived on scene a second ambulance and helicopter were requested to assist. Johnsburg EMS responded to evaluate the second patient as the Minerva crew cared for the first patient-who was in serious condition. Minerva EMTs transported the seriously injured biker to the Johnsburg Central School where North Creek Fire had set up a landing zone and LifeNet was standing by.

March 18, 2014- Minerva Fire responded to a reported chimney fire on Irishtown Road shortly after midnight. Within six minutes of the call Engine 494 was responding with multiple firefighters. On scene firefighters cleaned the chimney and checked the residence for further. Eight firefighters were on scene.

January 1, 2014- Minerva Fire responded to a reported vehicle inside a garage on fire. Upon the arrival of Car 390 & Engine 493 (5 minutes after the call to 9-1-1) a vehicle was found outside of the garage with flames visible. Seven firefighters worked to extinguish the working fire, which was fully knocked down shortly after Engine 493's arrival.
